22. Winter Solstice

22. December 2014

There are only three days left until Christmas Eve, and today we have winter solstice, the shortest day of the year. As from today onwards gradually the sun will shine for a little more time every day. Many people are getting melancholic when sitting in the dark, and therefore they spend a lot of money for artificial light.

Yet a person may also sit in darkness when bright light is shining all around him.

A person that has Jesus in his heart does not live in darkness but the light of Jesus is shining within him. He may feel caressed and cared for. This is what Paul wrote to the congregation in Corinth:

Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of the heart. At that time each will receive their praise from God. (1. Corinthians 4,5 NIV)

Enjoy being loved by Jesus. Don't condemn others because they might perhaps lead a superficial way of life and only think of money. Simply set an example to the people around you.
