Where Does The Nice Weather Come From?

Experts say that three days are the most that you can tell quite precisely in advance what the weather will be like.
But who is responsible of the weather at all? Whom can we blame for when it is raining or when the sun is shining? Can we have any influence on weather?

Continuously scientists have been searching yet so far they have not yet managed to find out how the weather comes to be. Of course we have known for a long time that as a result of this or that wind or special kinds of clouds a certain kind of weather comes to be. But we do not know why clouds turn up precisely here or there, and we cannot have any influence on weather in general. Is it a coincident when we have this or that kind of weather? There are some people, and I am one of them, that have the opinion that coincident does not exist. God has everything in his hands.

In the Bible there are several reports that state that God is Master over the weather. Here is one of them:

When he entered into a ship, his disciples followed him. And, behold, there arose a great storm in the sea, so that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep. And his disciples came to him, and woke him up, saying, “Lord, save us: we perish.” And he said unto them, “Why are you afraid? O what little faith you have?” Then he rose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm. But the men marvelled, saying, What kind of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him! (Matthew 8, 23 – 27)

Who is Jesus? In the Bible we read that Jesus rebuked the wind, and the wind obeyed him. No human being can do that. However, when we assume that Jesus is the Son of God, then it is easy for him also to give commands to the wind. After all God created the wind and the weather, and thus it is up to Him to decide when and where the weather shall be like this or like that.

The three children on this photo are not on the beach somewhere in a southern warm country. The photo was taken on the Channel Islands in June. They were there for a week as participants of the Dance World Cup, and throughout the whole week they had bright sunshine and warm weather which they tremendously enjoyed. This is quite unusual for this area. Normally it does not get extremely hot there, and definitely not for a whole week. Also the weather forecast had not been that bright at the beginning of the week.

Yet precisely during this week there had been about a thousand dancing children visiting this island, and they all tremendously enjoyed the wonderful weather. Coincidence? Or did God want to give joy to precisely these children during precisely this week? Make up your mind yourself.

By the way, in the beginning I asked whether man can have any influence on the weather. Scientists say, “no.,” Christians say, “yes.” Who is right?

There is a passage in the Bible that confirms the Christians' opinion. In the Sermon on the Mount Jesus says the following:

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. (Matthew 7, 7)

Many people prayed for these children during that week, that they may feel well and that they may enjoy their stay. Here Jesus clearly says that he answers our prayers. On Sunday still the weather forecast for the second half of the week had not been very bright. Anyhow it is not possible to tell a precise weather forecast for more than three days, but apart from that I am convinced that God answered the prayers for the children. If it had been stormy and rainy they would not by far have had that much fun.
